ANOTHER CRAPPY LUNCH

i boogie over to jenn's desk to ask if she has lunch plans. she tells me that she was planning on taking J out for his b-day meal while mentioning something about park road post (lobby seen in the above photo) and chicken pasta. seeing as how i'm not geared up with the typical PB&J, i somehow manage to get myself invited along to sample this chicken pasta because i'm always down for a lunch field trip.

on the drive over after i was unsuccessful at offering my driving services (could it be that jenn is afraid to ride with me since the last time when the car got a little swervy on us?) we were gifted with this incredible view of mother nature's shower out over evans bay. unbelievably, J had a camera jammed in his pocket which magically materialized and enabled him to steal this shot from the back seat - well done!

sorry i don't have too much to report these days. just another crappy lunch in this crappy country...do yourself a favor...never visit, it sucks. the chicken pasta by the way, ROCKED!

NEW AIR TOYZ

since i got no girlie to love, i love this instead. airport express with airtunes allows me to play my iTunes over my wireless network right through my home stereo speakers.

now this might be old news to some of you but i'm late to the short bus but i've got a seat. all i need now are a few more of these things and a few more sets of speakers and i'll have tunes in any part of the house that i wish. i opted to set this up to the living room since i have another set of stationary speakers in the office which i can plug directly into.

add to that bit of coolness this little gem: Airfoil, i can now stream audio from any application on the laptop through the new toy. i owe all of this to sandip...it's all his fault. =)

to top it all off, i'm now i'm listening to an evening of monopoly which was played amongst friends and recorded roughly 20 years ago. if there is a michelle danko anywhere on the interweb, i'd love to hear from her. oddly enough this bit of audio happened before i quit cursing and before i quit drinking. what a unique period in my life's history. thanks also to chris for sharing.

tonight was our last photo class. tonight was photoshop night and seeing as how i'm somewhat familiar with photoshop, i took it upon myself to doodle for the duration.

FREE TELEPHONY...GO ON, GIVE IT A SHOT
i tried this this morning where i called my parents. it's trippy to type phone numbers into a browser and then to click a button and have your telephone ring only to be connected seconds later to a country really really far away - and for FREE. i unfortunately rushed into it and we were disconnected midsentence at the trial time limit of 5 minutes.

go on, gimme a call...e-mail me if you don't have my phone number and i'll pass that on. go register, it's simple, easy and did i mention, FREE! the link is just below...

HOLLYWOOD SKULL AND BONES

i don't know if it's all the years of staring at a computer monitor analyzing movie footage frame by frame that gave me the ability to spot things that many others may miss but whatever the reason, i thought this was funny enough to share since i did stumble across it just now.

a friend was recently hyping the latest columbia pictures release "Monster House" and not knowing much about it i decided to go view the trailer at apple's site.

as it was playing back i glimpsed the above which jumped out at me. i laughed then rewound to make sure i saw what i thought i saw. seems i was right too.

for those who do not know what this reference is, i'll point you toward this little clip on youtube.

alright, enough of this segue, i'm gonna go watch the rest of that trailer now.

PEANUUUUUUUUUUTS ...... TO YOU !!

not much happening around there this weekend...just cleaning, washing, hanging, wiping, folding, wiping, hanging, cleaning, baking, cleaning and the occasional image swap to teach some uneducated thieving web users a lesson on how not to link to an image.

see, there's this problem going on where people (mainly myspace users) find an image on the web that they'd like to include on their page so they link directly to it and by directly i mean by including the entire URL like this: http://www.i8bozo.com/images/filename.jpg where "filename.jpg" is the image in question. THIS - IS - BAD, PEOPLE!! do not do this!! i don't care how much you like the picture of curious george or the oompa loompas or the warner brother's logo - which you happened to find on MY blog.

what you should do is save the image to YOUR computer, then upload it to YOUR server because by not doing so, every time YOUR page is loaded and that cute little picture of curious george loads, it STEALS bandwidth from ME and i do not pay to host pictures for YOU. so instead, your ignorance has been the source of much humor and laughter for both myself and a few of my friends because what i've done is swap out the cute little image of curious george with that of a reclining DUDE with a HUGE (and i mean H-U-G-E) PEE-PEE.

now, the joke is on you. i hope this has taught you a valuable lesson. if anyone is curious to see the image i replaced, just kick me an e-mail and i'd be more than happy to share. it's not quite something i'd like emblazoning my blog.

oh yeah, photo class is going well. we're three weeks in (of four) and i'm not learning all that much but it is a novel activity so i continue going. the above picture is one that i used for an assignment where we had to work on either exposure or white balance. i chose exposure and submitted three different versions of this shot with varying exposures. although i don't really feel i'm challenged in this particular class, i do think i'll continue with the photography classes as i find it interesting.

COUPLED
i was reminded earlier today that i never actually posted our 48hr film festival flick. i had posted the behind the scenes piece that karim put together but never the finished film. my 1% role was that of sound recordist. a big thank you goes out to everyone involved. well done.

here's the 31mb link:
