PAID IN FULL: "Wetlands 1 / Pelican"

at long last, my second
Geoff Dixon painting has arrived. i walked into a show of Geoff's at the Bowen Art Gallery a long while ago, saw this painting, glanced at the price tag, swallowed hard, then told Jenny (the gallery owner) "I'll take that one". it's rather huge-ish in size (121cm square - my US tape measures were under the house, so i'll let you do the math) and painted on solid board which means its a bit on the weighty side.
"Wetlands 1 / Pelican" by
Geoff Dixon - 1200 x 1200 2005 - artist acrylics and oil glazes on board is now resting heavily on the mantle above the fireplace. there's something about his ongoing theme of technology and environment that keeps drawing me in. add to that the fact that the pieces are rather messy and chaotic and i'm a sucker every time. i dread the day of his next exhibit.
now, if i could only make the rest of the house nice enough to warrant having art in it in the first place, i'd be golden...hmmm...time to call the electrician for his 4th (and hopefully final) visit.
