AN ADVENTURE TO THE VENTURE
now that the blog has a new face, it's time to get back to it. during the last month of "KONG" (oct/nov 05) the various departments took turns taking trips out to the venture to have their picture taken on the ship. a field trip if you will, a morale building field trip...one that was sorely needed. it was amazing to see the transformation from the mint green manuia (the original name of the ship and i've got a picture around here somewhere - probably on my crashed drive so you'll have to wait) which, after a quick search, was built in the 1950s then retrofitted to appear more as the 1930s version you see above. bet you didn't know the engine of the venture was yellow. now you do!
update: i found that pic of the manuia...it was here all along.
