A $125.00 PAINT BRUSH?

i finally cashed in on a promise i had made to myself who knows how many years ago. i've always been interested in watercolors as a medium so i dove in head first. it started with a little educational book which i purchased back in california recently. promised myself that i'd get into it once i got back down here in New Zealand. that time has come and the image you see above is my first few hours of slapping color down 'wet on wet'. i'm happy to report that i like the process, all aspects of it. oils are cool, yield some amazing results, but i have to say the immediacy and ease of watercolors is a very nice selling point. it'll be interesting to see where this painting ends up. landscapes are for sheep, so don't expect any pretty pictures coming from me any time soon.
oh, hey...i saw star wars (the new one) this weekend (thanks J)...and i liked it for the glowing shiny piece of visual effects orgasm that it was. because george lucas took me to an all time low in terms of expectation with his earlier crap crafting, i was pleasantly surprised when i found out this one was only 95% crap instead of his typical 100% pure crap. an improvement! i still won't buy his DVDs though. give me the original 1977 star wars any day.
