settling in
upon my departure from the states i met an interesting and very attractive woman (valerie) who was kind enough to engage me in conversation for the entire shuttle ride to the airport. it was a pleasant way to spend the hour long ride and i'm thankful for her decision to take the back seat next to me as opposed to the seat directly in front of me. i'd still love to take her up on her offer to kayak around fiji when 2008 rolls around.

all is well and good here in wellington as i continue to knock things off my list of 'to do'. i'm slowly getting settled in at paul's house. i was extremely surprised to see that my bed actually fit in the room i'll be renting for my stay. it didn't leave too much room left over but it's a small sacrifice if i'm to obtain the goals i have set for myself.

today marks my third day of work on KONG and i'm nearing the completion of my first shot. other things that i've yet to accomplish are purchasing a vehicle, getting to the tax person and visiting the Dr to see about some RSI that i aquired down in antarctica.

i've been a bit blown away to see how many people have moved around and changed jobs here at weta. it was something i wasn't prepared for but it's great to see people taking up the creative challenges and moving on.
