ha ha ha harad...

so i get this e-mail yesterday. it's from a friend chris white down in new zealand, a brilliant co-worker and one of the kindest people one could hope to meet. we collaborated on texturing a number of models for Return of the King; the first of which was a Harad Digi Double. Digi Doubles are meant to replicate the live action actors for use in stunts or performances which are too dangerous for a human being to attempt. each of us texture painters was asked to paint at least one Harad so as to split up the work of creating a group of these guys. being new at texture painting, the task was quite daunting and one i'm grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of. learned a great deal and i want to thank those who lended their patience to that end.

chris, being the funny person he is, sent this image to us to alert the toy collector in us all of their existence. for me, it sparked a sense of mild torture and a giggle as i reflected back on the experience.
