the antarctica update
so i'm trying out the latest 'update your blog from your e-mail' feature. makes it a little easier to keep everyone abreast of the latest happenings. keeping my fingers crossed for an image inclusion option for this feature though. i'm sure it won't be too long before we have that. go google!
some of you have heard the news, some haven't. i have landed a job as a JANITOR in antarctica, yes, you heard that right, ANTARCTICA (that's down south for those of you who ditched that day in geography).
i'll be deploying from christchurch, new zealand sometime this coming october and heading to the U.S. scientific base, McMurdo Station which is located on Ross Island in the Ross Sea. of the three options i was confronted with for the duration, i chose the longest one - a year - wouldn't you? i just wanted the full experience, 24 hour sunlight and then 24 hour darkness.
i'm still slowly getting my head around the whole idea of departing the life i've known for so long and exchanging it for something so completely different. i just hope it doesn't affect me in a negative way upon my return to mass civilization. should be an interesting experiment; one i'm looking most forward to.
there you have it, the latest bit of news from this corner of the world. at current i'm in between gigs here in LA so if any of you know of any available work, please do get in touch.
