ahhhh.... i've landed and i'm settled after more than a month of upheaval and transition back to california life. i must say that the experiences i've been having and the things i've noticed since i've landed have been one of constant rediscovery. things like a guy cursing out his broken baggage at the airport to the obscenely oversized T R U C K S that grace the AZ/CA roadways in massive numbers have brought smiles and laughter. simple things like seeing a product, business or even a logo that you've forgotten about is something i'm stumbling across on a daily basis. i find even those small acts of rediscovery entertaining and fun. california has been very welcoming and i'm thankful to those who have had a hand in making my transition a relatively smooth one. you know who you are...thank you.
today i had my first fortune cookie in probably three years: it said "darkness hangs like a fat cloud above your head, rainy days will soon be yours" ... nah, i'm kidding...fortune cookies never say stuff like that... actually it said "happiness is around the next corner, wealth down the street"
good to be back. i shall miss hearing the phrase "where are you from"?
