keeping busy.

i've been trying to keep busy out here whether it's going to the gym in the morning after a 9 hr day, doing trivia night with some of the gang or climbing ob hill like i did this morning with mike and ariel (two friends from puerto rico who are down here on an intern program). i found out today that those two are the second and third guys ever in the history of puerto rico to come to antarctica. that's kinda special and i'm stoked for them. they can't stand the cold and i get a kick out of hearing about it. they hauled their puerto rico flag to the top of the hill and we had some fun waving that around and posing for photos. one or more of those will end up here in a day or two.

after the photo shoot with mike and ariel, they split and left me to my filming. all told, i spent probably three hours up there just chillin and waiting on the camera to do it's thing. i shot a whole tape of mt erebus again; this time with the anamorphic lens which will allow for natural playback on some of the newly arriving wide screen televisions.

i've also rethought the film project i had in mind for down here since i hit that hurdle a while back with the audio gear. i've retooled my thinking and now what i'm planning on is a series of interviews to be conducted across the board. it's my plan ot amass a library of personal experiences from a multitude of personalities down here, some first timers, some veterans.

i'd like my reader's help though (this means you) ... i've been putting together a list of questions for the interviewees but i'd like to pick your brains as well and add in your questions if you'd be kind enough to contribute. no question is a bad question and i'd value your input. if you have any (and i mean, ANY) questions that you're curious about, please hit the comment button below and add it to this blog. i'll go over them and add the one's i haven't already got to my list.

i look forward to your contributions. hope this entry makes up for the lack of content from the last post. =)

here's a random photo.

DO PEOPLE GO THERE WITH REAL JOBS OR ARE THEY JUST THERE FOR AN EXPERIENCE?

Do you ever feel confined or claustrophobic?

(obvious question) What made you want to live and work in Antartica?

Do you feel different physically living at the bottom of the planet?

Describe the moment when/if you said to yourself "what the fuck am I doing here? What was I thinking?" and how you got past it.

The first thing that pops into your head:
What do you miss most about home?
What food do you miss the most?
What's the first you'll do when you get back home?
