fury of this place
some of you may remember there was a gnarly storm here in antarctica not too long ago. aside from ruining a couple's happy little retreat, it also wreaked havoc on mactown itself causing much damage to the buildings and to some of the vehicles. i can recall seeing a photo online somewhere of a passenger van with all of it's windows blown clear out from the winds. here's a firsthand view of an exposed tractor:

the other day we had a condition two which means the winds kicked up a bit and the visibility lessened. i think it fell on my day off so i had no reason to go outside and feel it for myself. i'm sure i'll get more opportunities to witness some of the more foul weather.
